Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Osh State University, Kyrgyz Republic
Sopuev Adakhimzhan – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Honorary Academician of the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor of the Department of ‘Information Systems and Programming’ at Osh State University.
He graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Osh State Pedagogical Institute in 1975. In 1983 he defended his Candidate's thesis on the speciality ‘Differential equations’, and in 1996 - his doctoral thesis on the theme ‘Boundary value problems for equations of the fourth order and equations of mixed type’.
Scientific activity
His main area of research is related to partial differential equations and their application in various scientific and technical fields. He developed the classification of fourth-order partial differential equations and defined their canonical forms, which is important for fundamental mathematics.
A separate area of his research is boundary value problems for equations of mixed type, which find wide application in physics, mechanics and technical sciences. The results obtained are used in modelling complex processes in visco-elastic media, filtration of liquids in porous structures, bonding of discontinuous natural phenomena and prediction of catastrophic processes.
А. Sopuev is the author of more than 140 scientific and scientific-methodical works, including:
His scientific works were presented at republican, all-union and international conferences, and published in leading scientific journals.
Pedagogical and administrative activity
He has considerable teaching experience, having worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor, head of department, dean of the Faculty of Computer Technologies and vice-rector for academic work. His teaching activity covers the teaching of disciplines related to programming, mathematical modelling and information technologies.
He pays great attention to the introduction of modern information technologies into the educational process. Under his supervision software products for the automation of the educational process, assessment of students‘ knowledge and management of teachers’ workload have been developed.
10 PhD theses were defended under his scientific supervision. He is a member of the dissertation council and an organiser of scientific and practical conferences.
Awards and achievements
For his significant contribution to the development of science and education he was awarded:
Since 2024 he is an Honorary Academician of the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
